Dear all,

Welcome back!

We’re open – but things are a little different.

We have spaced our inside seating in accordance with Government guidelines and will restrict customer numbers appropriately depending on household group sizes etc, and have increased our outside seating capacity, weather depending. Sitting or drinking at the bar is not currently permitted so we will be operating ‘Table Service’ only. Hand sanitiser is available on entry, and at key points in the bar, including prior to entering and exiting our toilet facility, which also has liquid soap, disposable paper towels, and a lidded pedal bin to help reduce the risk of any cross contamination.

We respectfully ask that you adhere to current Government guidance during your visit; maintain social distancing rules, wash your hands or use hand sanitiser regularly, and use contactless card payments where possible. And it goes without saying PLEASE STAY AWAY if you have, or think you may have, symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has.

We are required to retain contact details of all customers to assist NHS Track and Trace. This can be simply a telephone number or email address. We’ll need to note this at every visit but it will be ONLY be used for the purposes of notification of any outbreak of COVID-19 and will be confidentially disposed of after 21 days.

As always, all our glasses are hot water machine washed; our bar serving equipment / Take Out bottles are regularly sterilised, and tables, door handles, common areas etc will remain regularly cleaned with appropriate antibacterial products.

We will continue our Take Out and Delivery Service. Please consider using our Click and Collect system in advance for Take Outs as this will help us reduce any bottle necks on collection.

Thank you for your continued support, for taking the time to read this, and for respecting this guidance on your visit. Please note that procedures may change as we reopen and establish any additional steps to ensure your, and our, safety during this pandemic.

Cheers all. Kirsty and Phil xx

Committed to serving quality real ales, ciders and wines as well as a good selection of gins and soft drinks, double award winning Old Bay Alehouse is located in the parade of shops in Minnis Road, just a five minute walk from the seafront and the Viking Coastal Trail at Minnis Bay.

Sharing its name with the nearby Old Bay Cottage, the premises was H C Johnsons Old Bay Stores in the 1930’s, a family run general stores and Post Office for three generations.

In keeping with the history of the property, Old Bay Alehouse has a subtle 1930’s styling, and is a comfortable and friendly addition to the Micropub scene, as well as being a homely hub for the local community.
